My Super Healthy Melbourne Finds

Planning a trip to Australia some day? Well, save this article and make my healthy finds part of your itinerary. They are sure to impress! In this blog post, I am focusing on my favorite neighborhood in Melbourne, South Fitzroy. It is ultra trendy and cool, with a great selection of boutiques, cafes, bars and restaurants. Read on to learn what I discovered...

Stay like a local by booking with Airbnb and getting around on foot, by Melbourne's amazing public transport system, or via Uber. The best thing about South Fitzroy is it is conveniently wedged between the bustling CBD, upcoming Collingwood, and funky Fitzroy. I personally think that Gertrude St is the heart and soul of this neighborhood.

Get physical by exploring this happening city on foot (note: there are two tranquil parks nearby: Carlton Gardens and Fitzroy Gardens which are both worth checking out), or by doing a fantastic yoga class at the charming Gertrude Street Yoga studio (the lovely owners and skilled teachers are all wonderful people sharing what they are passionate about).

THE BEST coffee + food by day = Archie's (on Gertrude St) and South of Johnston (a short stroll into Collingwood). Both of these places are super cool to hang out at, serve ridiculously delicious food, and in my opinion make the best coffee in the city (TAKE NOTE: Melbournians are extremely serious about their coffee)! BOOM!

Shop for the best quality produce and health foods at Aunt Maggies. This is the kind of place that I get giddy over, could explore the isles for hours, and literally want to buy everything. Yep it is my little slice of heaven on Earth (I'm already having withdrawals).

Wine + dine in style at the hip restaurant Cutler & Co. This place is super sleek and romantic. The service is great, the ambience divine, the wine top notch and the food is YUM! Take your time, soak up the atmosphere and savor every dish. Hot tip #1: when you book or as you order, inform the staff of any food sensitivities you may have, as they were very accommodating of mine. Hot tip #2: be sure to book your table well in advance (Melbourne is kinda like NYC, swarming with lots of eager foodies that tend to make reservations a couple of months ahead).
